With the location of new infrastructure in eastern Cuba and the challenge to reverse unfulfilled tasks due to the deficit of construction materials during 2023, workers in this sector in Guantanamo celebrated their day at the Guaso Theater, the scene of significant cultural and political events in the province.
Yusyf Borot Jiménez, director of the Building Company in the territory (Guanco) highlighted the infrastructural transformations in a dozen vulnerable neighborhoods under the advice of local governments, the gradual implementation of 43 measures in favor of the socialist state company, from agri-food, industrial, hydraulic, road and other programs.
The manager also highlighted the company’s incursion into the Cement Factory in Santiago de Cuba, still under construction, with which yields of more than a million tons per year are forecast, thanks to its modern technology; however, they receive on-site the support of other entities in this region of the country.
After these 50 years of union management, political and government leaders of the territory, present at the event, notoriously honored 8 state companies and one private company, the result of internal emulations in the sector, as well as 9 union sections, outstanding in the boost to tasks.
These days, for the Construction Workers Union in the country, there are constant tributes to the attackers of the Moncada barracks, Armando Mestre Martínez and Juan Almeida Bosque, as well as to the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, for its role in the political and socioeconomic construction of the nation.
