According to MsC. Iselis Danger Boot, director of the institution, the anniversary program began on August 23 with a gala held in collaboration with the Federation of Cuban Women. The partnership paid tribute to Sócrates Villalón, founder of the Cultural Training Center, who maintained a close relationship with the organization.

The center is currently hosting the fifth edition of its Scientific Conference, titled Heritage, Identity and Cultural Processes. The event opened with the panel discussion “Fifty Years, Many Voices, One Culture,” featuring  PhD. Migdalia Tamayo, PhD Noralis Palomo and MsC. José Cuenca. The panel commemorated the 50th anniversary of Cuba’s Ministry of Culture and examined its contribution to the country’s cultural institutions and development.

The conference also includes the presentation of scientific research and audiovisual materials related to the work of the Cultural Training Center.

Another highlight of the anniversary program will be the exhibition Memory of a Journey. The photographic display will showcase four decades of professional training, featuring teachers, cultural figures and other individuals who have contributed to the center’s history. The exhibition is scheduled for October 19 at 10 a.m.

The official tribute ceremony will take place on October 26 at 10 a.m. at the center’s facilities. Organizers have invited current and former workers, retired employees, teachers and graduates of the music program, many of whom continue to contribute to the province’s cultural life.

The center’s leadership emphasized that the anniversary represents four decades of achievements, results and perseverance in overcoming challenges. At the same time, it acknowledged that important obstacles remain, particularly in the current difficult circumstances.

The institution reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening professional development and continuing to improve its training programs in the years ahead.
