Guantanamo.- The Guantanamo baseball team “Indios Guerreros del Guaso” concluded their road trip in Granma with a disappointing record of one win and three losses. They are set to return to their home field at Nguyen Van Troi Stadium to face the Holguín team “Cachorros” starting October 14.

The team’s sole victory during this stretch was a decisive 10-1 win, achieved by Eyel Fernández in the opening game. He delivered an impressive six-inning performance, allowing seven hits, four walks, and one hit-by-pitch while striking out three batters. The offense contributed with 12 hits, and three errors from the “Alazanes” helped secure the win for the Indios.

However, the optimism from that victory quickly faded as the team suffered a crushing defeat in the second game, losing 17-1 due to the mercy rule after just five innings.

The pitching staff struggled to contain the opposing offense, and the batting lineup has yet to find consistency, aside from the initial game. With the “Cachorros” being a formidable opponent, the Indios face an uphill battle to improve their standing, currently languishing at the bottom of the Eastern Zone with only one win in eight games.
