Guantanamo.- With a call for comprehensive education and training to serve the nation as competent professionals of the future, the First Secretary of the Party in the province, Yoel Pérez García, spoke with student leaders from the Federation of Secondary School Students (FEEM) and the Federation of University Students (FEU).

During the exchange held at the Guantánamo University of Medical Sciences, the territory’s top political representative inquired about the main issues and activities  of the assemblies, the Amateur Artists Festivals, sports tournaments, the Camilo-Che Day, and International Student Day, to be held on November 17.

For their part, the leaders of the FEU and FEEM expressed their commitment to accepting assignments such as active participation in teaching and research, university outreach, and community social projects, among other tasks.

Yoel Pérez García proposed holding an inter-university meeting with students and their organizations soon, in addition to, he urges them to conceive teaching as an integration to consolidate pre-university, technical, artistic, and university education centers.

He emphasized the importance of paying special attention to FEEM students studying at the colleges of both institutions of higher education, which require support in their training.

Likewise, the Secretary of the Young Communists League (UJC, in Spanish abbrevaition), in the province, Saili Frómeta Tito, highlighted the work to strengthen the leadership structures of the FEEM and the FEU, in addition to emphasizing the creation of UJC grassroots committees in each first-year brigade in the student centers as a priority.
