At the Mártires de Honduras culture house, located in the town Honduras, in the Manuel Tames municipality, the gathering Where we come from, was held on Friday 26, to mark the 5th anniversary of the traditional space, dedicated this time to the community of Haitians and descendants of that town,  located about 13 kilometers from the capital city of Guantánamo.

Danay Castillo Chivás, president of the cultural association of Haitians and descendants in the town, said that the activity also commemorated the 66th anniversary of the death of the community martyr Lorenzo Boicet Antoine, a descendant of Haitians who worked at the Isabel sugar mill, today Honduras, and became the leader of the union movement and one of principal of the July 26 Movement.

During the gathering Where we come from, exhibitions of clothing and work and domestic instruments used by emigrants from Haiti, living in eastern Cuba, were presented, in addition to the diverse offering of traditional dishes and drinks.

The musical-dance expressions were performed by the traditional floklore groups  Assossyé, and  Los Cossiá, invited to the celebration, which shared the stage with the Popóy su changüi group and the Monchi religious group.
