Guantanamo.- The Diómedes Silveira Valdés Cultural Center in El Salvador Municipality has launched the collective exhibition “Forever Fidel” to commemorate the centennial of Fidel Castro Ruz. This exhibition features fourteen diverse artistic pieces that collectively narrate pivotal moments from the life of the iconic leader of the Cuban Revolution.
Curator Sayli Ramos Romero emphasized that the exhibition aims to convey Castro’s human essence and his deep connection with the people. The artworks, created through Creative Workshops, utilize a mix of drawing and mixed media, showcasing a spectrum of styles from realism to symbolic abstraction, each serving as a tribute to Castro’s multifaceted legacy.
Open to the public until the end of the month, “Forever Fidel” has become a cultural hub for both locals and visitors, reflecting the lasting impact of Castro’s ideology.
Notable works include portraits that capture his intense gaze and pieces that reference his speeches and bond with nature, reinforcing the cultural institutions’ dedication to preserving historical memory.
