Guantanamo.- Environmental specialists, together with the institutions of the Guantánamo Hydraulic Resources Delegation, are working to control the main sources of pollution in the basins of national and provincial interest to reduce the impact of toxic waste as much as possible, in favor of the environment and human health.
As part of the actions, the Provincial Commission of Bahia kicked start and developed a plan to decontaminate the Guantánamo-Guaso basin, an essential step to protect this ecosystem of environmental relevance for the country.
In this sense, the development of the Integrated Management of the Middle and Lower Parts of the Guantánamo Guaso Basin project stands out, which involves several entities such as the Institute of Hydraulic Resources in the territory, the Raw Materials and Communal Recovery Company, in charge of soil studies, reforestation, environmental sanitation, among other measures.
The Guantanamo experts also verify the operation of the waste treatment systems in the entities, and implement maintenance and repair measures in some companies in the industrial zone.
By monitoring and advising the entities, the Environmental specialists in the province are working to reduce the generation of polluting substances in Caimanera Bay and the main basins of the territory, for the benefit of human health, the care of biodiversity and the environment in general.
