Guantanamo.- Nearly 800 professionals from Guantanamo collaborate in educational missions in Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean as part of the International Collaboration, an educational program promoted by the eternal leader Fidel Castro Ruz, which is an example of the profound solidarity vocation of the Revolution, expressed in educational collaboration for more than 60 years.
Niuvis Yevil Sanloy, International Relations Advisor at the Provincial Education Directorate, highlighted to CMKS Radio Station that the collaborators support the implementation of literacy programs from sixth and ninth grade levels, in which “Misión Ribas”, “Yo si Puedo”, and others stand out.
He also said that the educators from the Upper East who are currently providing educational missions in Honduras and Equatorial Guinea in this last stage taught people who joined the literacy program to read, write and calculate, and also expressed their commitment to continue improving themselves with the help of Cuban collaborators, in order to eradicate illiteracy.
Among the 800 Guantanamo collaborators are graduates in Biology, Mathematics, Spanish, Cuban History and English, who also carry out the continuing education programs “Ya puedo leer y escribir” and “Yo, sí puedo seguir” (I can now read and write) and contributed to raising the education of the inhabitants of those lands.
