Guantanamo.- The provincial event commemorating the 65th anniversary of the José Martí Pioneer Organization (OPJM) was held at the Rubén Martínez Villena Primary School in the municipality of Guantánamo, with the participation of political and educational authorities and representatives of youth organizations in the province.
With the creative spirit that characterizes Cuban children and teenagers, during the event outstanding pioneers, schools, and teachers were awarded with the 4 de Abril Distinction. A special distinction was awarded to Yoel Pérez García, First Secretary of the Party in this eastern province.
The OPJM celebrates this new anniversary by instilling in children the highest ideals of the Revolution, the Homeland, and history, and by shaping the future of the country, with education as its primary duty.
The celebration was joined by members of the José Martí Art Instructors Brigade, the Proyecto Loco Group, the Carpandilla artistic ensemble, and cultural promoter Nalanis with her clown character Velitas.
Since its founding, the OPJM has stood as a school of values, participation, and equality, with the goal of strengthening the comprehensive education of new generations, protagonists of a movement that builds a future with joy, responsibility, and a profound sense of patriotism, following the example of the National Hero for whom it is named.
