Guantánamo.- The more than 87,184 students and teachers of the Guantanamo Province are carrying out various activities these days in honor of the 171st birth anniversary of the National Hero José Martí.
Exhibitions on the life and work of the Apostle of Cuban independence, special morning meetings and knowledge contests in institutions at the provincial level are included in the program that evokes the author of “The Golden Age.”
Likewise, in the more than 800 schools in this eastern territory, audiovisual materials are displayed where the students and teachers develop work with the educational multimedia found in the different computer labs.
From the school libraries, the reading of Martí’s texts is encouraged, as well as other materials that refer to life, the work of the most universal of Cubans.
In Guantánamo, as usual, every morning the flowers are placed at the José Martí’s bust located in the school squares as a sign of affection and gratitude from those who know how to love, an action that translates into historical continuity and validity of José Martí’s thought.
