Guantanamo.- With special morning sessions full and heaving with emotion which spring from the feeling and commitment to continue the legacy of Fidel Castro, the more than 87,184 students of the Cuban Upper East pay a well-deserved tribute to the eternal Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, eight years after his departure into eternity.
This Monday in Guantanamo, from the most intricate schools to the university centers, the unforgettable leader of the Cuban Revolution will also be remembered with poems, songs, recitals that hightligh the principles of social justice, solidarity and humanism that characterized Fidel Castro Ruz.
Photographic exhibitions, book presentations, as well as workshops, colloquiums and audiovisuals that recall milestones in the life and work of Fidel Castro Ruz, are some of the activities that are taking place these days in Guantanamo schools and universities.
As the province of Guantánamo and especially the educational sector are working intensely on the recovery after the passage of Hurricane Oscar, the students and teachers specially evoke Fidel’s legacy as he fought many battles for Cuba to preserve the Revolution and for the most just causes in the world.
