Two pumping stations in the Hatibonico town and in the Aqueduct and Sewage Base Business Unit, located in the chief town of Caimanera Municipality, were inaugurated on the occasion of the May Day celebrations, a day characterized by the joy of workers.

Víctor Mariano Chivás Portuondo, director of the sector in the coastal territory, specified that the works valued at eight million pesos are the result of agreements adopted during the visits of the Vice Prime Minister Inés María Chapman Waugh, and the President of the Institute of Hydraulic Resources, Antonio Rodríguez Rodríguez, in search of better working conditions for the 63 workers in the sector.

He also explained about the future allocation of an electric tricycle to the operator in the Boquerón settlement, where he must travel around five kilometers daily to operate the water supply valves.

Wilmer Mendoza London, Head of Maintenance at  the Aqueduct and Sewage Base Business Unit, pointed out that it is a challenge for the staff to work on the hydraulic infrastructure and the sewage network system due to its advanced deterioration, which is why the new headquarters humanizes the work of the office staff and benefits clients who carry out procedures in the sector.
