Early attention and timely treatment are vital to guarantee the life quality of patients with breast cancer, a disease that is the leading cause of death among women worldwide, said Dr. Katia Ramírez Kindelán, head of the Oncology Service at the Doctor Agostinho Neto General Teaching Hospital in Guantánamo.

She said that as part of the national program for the integral control of this disease, education, prevention and health promotion actions are carried out and patients are attended from the first to the third level, depending on the diagnosis.
