More than 7,000 first-grade students in Guantanamo received the blue scarf, a symbol that identifies them as member of the the José Martí Pioneer Organization this Tuesday, a traditional tribute to the lives and legacies of Comandantes Ernesto Che Guevara and Camilo Cienfuegos.
The Clodomira Acosta Ferrals semi-boarding school in this city was the venue of this happy event in the province, an unforgettable moment, in which the children received from their parents, teachers and directors of the Education sector the scarf that identifies them as “Moncadistas” and the will accompany you during the initial stage of their pioneer life.
Young children from all over the country will receive the blue scarf this October 8, which marks the anniversary (in 1967) of Ernesto Che Guevara’s capture in Bolivia, and his assassination the following day, while October 28 marks the disappearance (in 1959) of Camilo Cienfuegos.
