Guantanamo.- More than 2,900 students from San Antonio del Sur gathered at their schools early in the morning to participate in student elections.
Sixty-four schools in the mountainous municipality opened their doors, fostering an environment where respect, responsibility, civic education, and merit guided the voluntary selection of the most capable students.
The students embraced the day as a celebration of joy and camaraderie, demonstrating their commitment to academic excellence.
This event was particularly significant as all schools affiliated with the José Martí Pioneer Organization held elections in memory of child martyr Francisco González Cueto, known as Paquito, who is recognized as Cuba’s first Pioneer martyr.
