Guantánamo.- With the presence of Yoel Pérez García, First Secretary of the Party in the province of Guantánamo, the Provincial Preparatory Seminar for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year began this Tuesday at the 14 de Junio Special School. This two-day meeting brings together municipal education directors, methodologists, specialists, and other officials from the sector.

At the meeting, the top political leader from Guantánamo urged educators and officials not to settle for traditional approaches and to explore more dynamic and engaging ways to instill the values ​​of the Revolution, patriotism, honesty, and a sense of social responsibility.

He also highlighted the urgency of effectively using new technologies and community spaces, strengthening the school-family-community links, and designing projects that actively involve students in solving local problems, based on a solid ideological foundation.

During the provincial seminar to prepare for the next school year, the Guantanamo educators discussed on the political and ideological preparation of teaching staff, along with an analysis of methodological work and ongoing professional development, among other key issues to ensure teaching  according to the needs of students in these times.

In their work agenda, educators from the Cuban Upper East region plan to design concrete actions to strengthen preventive work in schools and communities, in order to contribute to the comprehensive education of students and prevent the use of drugs that are harmful to health.

Once the preparatory meeting for the upcoming school year concludes, these meetings will be immediately extended to all municipalities in Guantánamo, through similar meetings, to reach every school and ensure that all educators are prepared in line with provincial guidelines.

Until Thursday, July 10, the 14 de Junio ​​Special School will be the center of Guantánamo’s educational activities. This space will lay the foundation for a successful school year, focused on academic excellence, the comprehensive training of new generations, and the ideological strength of the teaching staff.
