Guantanamo.- A special edition of “Entre Ríos” Magazine, the official publication of the Municipal Assembly of People’s Power in Guantánamo, was presented at the Arab Hall of the Rubén López Sabariego House of Culture in Cuba’s easternmost city.

The launch coincided with the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Cuba’s local People’s Power bodies. The publication offers a historical overview of the institution and its creation in the provincial capital, while highlighting the work of founder Zulma Ojeda and designer Víctor Sánchez.

The issue also features significant moments from Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz’s presence in the region, along with striking images of socioeconomic sites he visited.

These events were presented with eloquence by PhD. Migdalia Tamayo Téllez, a professor at the University of Guantánamo and a Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences.

With more than 170 pages and a high-quality design, the edition was described by attendees as a luxury publication.

“Entre Ríos” maintains its regular sections, devoted to important events, historical milestones and personalities that shaped the emergence and development of Guantánamo. The city will mark the 155th anniversary of its designation as a town on December 1.

Idaliena Díaz Casamayor, member of Parliament, president of the Municipal Assembly of People’s Power in Guantánamo and director of “Entre Ríos,” emphasized the publication’s distinctive features.

Despite the complex and challenging times, she said, the magazine demonstrates how much can be achieved in support of the locality’s cultural heritage.
