Guantánamo.- With commitment to support the economic and social development of the region, students and teachers from the José Maceo Grajales Pre-University Vocational Institute of Exact Sciences (IPVCE) enthusiastically joined the current coffee harvest in the municipality of Manuel Tames.
This mobilization, which brings together students and their teachers, is a practical example of the vocational complex’s connection with the economic development and food sovereignty efforts of Cuba’s easternmost province.
The brigade supports the coffee harvest on local farms, where, under the guidance of experienced farmers, the students pick coffee, a crucial task to ensure the quality of the exportable grains and prevent coffee cherries falling off trees.
For the adolescents, this experience goes beyond productive contributions; it provides a comprehensive learning space where they come into direct contact with field work, understand the importance of the agricultural sector, and strengthen values such as responsibility, collective effort, and civic awareness.
The incorporation of the IPVCE Jos{e Maceo into the coffee harvest is a gesture that honors the name of the hero who bears its name and reflects the commitment of Cuban youth to building a prosperous future.
