Guantanamo.- The National Tax Administration Office (ONAT) has announced a one-year tax exemption on the sales of renewable energy technologies for both individuals and businesses, aimed at boosting investment in this sector. This initiative is part of Resolution 180 of 2026, which took effect on August 5, 2026.

The resolution mandates that sellers must clearly distinguish sales of renewable energy products from other unrelated items in their accounting records. This requirement ensures transparency and accountability in the application of the tax benefits.

By consolidating various tax measures into a single legal framework, Resolution 180 seeks to enhance incentives for renewable energy investments, aligning with Cuba’s energy transition policy.

ONAT will provide ongoing support to ensure compliance and effective implementation of these benefits.
