La media flor, an interesting, funny and intelligent story that draws on clown techniques (based on the clown´s universe), is the most recent play being prepared by the Guantanamo Guiñol Theater Company for children and the whole family, as part of its commitment to encourage good aesthetic taste among the public.
This innovative creation is accompanied by Emilio Vizcaíno in the general direction, actor Eldys Cuba Milán, who takes over as artistic director while acting alongside the young Julio César González Moreno, one of the most recent members of the Saíz Brothers Association, who is part of the next puppeteers continuing the legacy in the province.
The story becomes a free version based on the classic text of the same name: La media flor, by the Argentine puppeteer considered the master of puppets, Luis Alberto (Quike) Sánchez Vera, who invites to self-reflection through a beautiful metaphor that takes us closer to the meaning of love, sharing, group work and respect for nature.
The show starred by particular characters, and bets on a different aesthetic in theater, is announced as a delight for everyone, from a series of events, games, surprises and humorous scenes that will be hilarious not only for children, but also for the adults who accompany them.
La media flor joins the long list of pieces gestated by the Guantanamo Theater Guiñol Company, which since its foundation on April 4, 1970, has worked on several plays of Latin American dramaturgy, in its desire to contribute to the cultural development of the territory as a kind of a creative and experimental laboratory within the professional movement of the Performing Arts.
