Guantánamo.- In Guantánamo’s daycare centers and children’s houses, the latter created by organizations such as Health, Culture, Agriculture, and Education, more than 850 educators and assistants weave a bright future for early childhood every day.

These institutions, inspired by the legacy of Vilma Espín, are spaces where love, creativity, and pedagogy come together to ensure early stimulation, play, and meaningful learning for children under one to five years old.

With limited resources but infinite ingenuity, Guantánamo educators create handcrafted teaching aids: from abacuses with plastic lids to illustrated stories with recycled materials.

Each teaching resource is designed to enhance the cognitive, emotional, and social development of the more than five thousand children, demonstrating that pedagogy does not depend on vast resources, but on a passion for teaching.

The educators, guardians of the present and future generation, faithful to Vilma’s principle, not only prepare children for primary education, but also ease the burden on working families and strengthen community values.
