UNEAC Guamo Award 2023 in Guantánamo for young filmmaker Daniel Ross DieguezGuantanamo.- The Provincial Committee of the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC) in Guantanamo conferred the Guamo Award 2023 to the young independent audiovisual producer Daniel Ross Diéguez (DaRoDe), the highest recognition granted by this cultural institution to the artistic personality of the year.

During the ceremony, which took place at the UNEAC headquarters in this territory, broadcaster Martha Beatriz Rodríguez, president of the jury, announced that the evaluation committee decided to grant this provincial credit to creator Daniel Ross Diéguez for his performance, professional growth and transcendence of his cinematographic work during the past year 2023.

On the other hand, the Guamo Award in its Honorary category was given to the bolerista and dentist Paula Villalón Fernández, host of the Bolereando space; the researcher and historian of Guantanamo city, José Sánchez Guerra; and the promoter of the Martiana Route in the province and defender of the Apostle’s ideology, Rubén Preval Sánchez.

Students of the Antonia Luisa Cabal Salis Professional Music School enlivened with their melodies the Guamo awards evening, which was attended by Martha Bonet, president of UNEAC in the country, its vice president Magda Resik and the Culture Vice Minister Lizette Martinez, which was also a suitable moment to recognize the student of this center in the

specialty of flute at the middle level, Rene Vazquez Porto, as the winner of the Interpretation Contest sponsored by this cultural organization in Guantanamo.
