
Guantanamo.- With the aim of reaffirming the strength of youth as a ready reserve for the various defensive structures of the Revolution, higher education students in Guantánamo province participated in the University Bastion exercise, as part of National Defense Day in this eastern region of the country.
The member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and Chief of the Eastern Army, Major General Eugenio Armando Rabilero Aguilera, along with the main authorities of the territory, observed the training of the students concentrated in different areas such as infantry weapon firing, grenade launching, unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as the use of mines and other explosives used on the battlefield.

Sayli Frómeta Tito, first secretary of the Union of Young Communists in Guantánamo province, emphasized the importance of military training for students to defend the Cuban Revolution under any circumstances.
Dressed primarily in the colors of the national flag, the Guantánamo residents who participated in the University Bastion dedicated the event to the birthday of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, and to the victory at Playa Girón, under the strategic concept of the War of the Entire People.
