Vitilla’s first win was the most newsworthy of the sixth day of the Veterans´ Softball Tournament, as part of the Luminarias del Guaso League.

The team led by Roilán Elías won 10- 7 against Guerreros, but not before overcoming their difficulties in the middle game before the offensive awakening of the Manuel Calderin´s disciples, a pitcher who took the setback.

The smile went to left-hander Israel Barrientos, who needed the support of Vladimir Matos. Esmeraldo Fiss and Enrique Díaz commanded the offensive of the winners. Odelmis Barrios came out on top for Guerreros, winning 2-3, including a home run.

Players from Jamaica now lead with 5 and 1, followed by ETECSA with 4-2, CAN and Guerreros 3-3, Sepsa 2-4 and Vitilla 1-5. This Sunday CAN-Sepsa, Jamaicans-Guerreros and Vitilla-ETECSA face each other.

In the 1960s sub-league, the Tigres del Guaso once again beat the Braves in a dynamic and brilliant game ending 5-4. This game was the welcome return to the field of Yasmín Bomblanc, commissioner of Baseball in the province of Guantanamo and one of the founders of the Luminarias del Guaso.
