May Day in Guantanamo

With the slogan “For the Homeland, Our Hands and Hearts”, some 128,000 workers and their families will parade this May Day through the Mariana Grajales square in Guantanamo to celebrate the International Proletariat Holiday, a moment that should become another act of reaffirmation of the Cuban Revolution.

It was promoted during the provincial plenary session where participants evaluated the preparations of the celebrations, that was attended by Rafael Pérez Fernández, First Secretary of the PCC in this eastern territory and Governor Emilio Matos Mosqueda.

During the meeting, Pérez Fernández highlighted the need for a decisive effort to develop a combative and energetic parade, also meaning that the commemoration of the date should be aimed at promoting agriculture, sanitizing the city, neighborhoods, work and student centers, among others.

 

The also member of the Central Committee of the PCC in Guantanamo called on the leaders, cadres and general secretaries of the 15 labor movements to lead a colorful and enthusiastic mobilization to demonstrate the unity of the Guantanamo people and in turn called on them to confront the indiscipline, illegalities and the predatory pricing.

In the plenary session to check the preparations for May Day,the union leaders announced the activities to be carried out in the municipalities and the provincial capital  such as  decoration of centers, voluntary blood donations, productive works, dominoes tournament, expo-fair, recreational activities, recognition of outstanding workers among others.[/bg_collapse]
