With the opening at the headquarters of the Cuban Journalists Association (UPEC) in Guantanamo, of the exhibition titled: Social chronicle from graphic humor, by the visual artist and photoreporter of the Semanario Venceremos, Miguel Antonio Dalmau, began the Celebrations of the Cuban Press, to be held on March 14, in commemoration of the 132nd anniversary of the founding of the Patria Newspaper, by the José Martí.

Forty-four pieces make up this exhibition, which summarizes a series of drawings and caricatures published in the sections of the Venceremos Newspaper: Catalejo, and Historias al pie, the latter by the journalist Haydée León Moya, whose visual complement is the illustrations of the young artist Miguel Antonio Dalmau Poveda, member of the Guantanamo Tinta Rápida graphic humor group.

This year, the Cuban Press Day in Guantanamo is dedicated to the two decades since the founding of the La Voz del Sol Municipal Radio Station, in Maisí, and to the 65th anniversary of the first visit of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro to the province, while national level commemorates the 170th anniversary of the birth of the Cuban journalist Juan Gualberto Gómez, and the 95th anniversary of Ernesto Vera, former president of the UPEC in Cuba.
