“I am very happy to be in this land that inspired La Guantanamera, a popular song I heard in my country many years ago”, said Her Excellency Nana Yuliana, the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia in Cuba, who visited the Guantanamo Province, the easternmost end of the island.

The Indonesian Embassador’s visit was aimed at knowing about the cultural, historical and geographical characteristics of the province to explore the possibilities of exchange in commercial matters between her country and this territory.

Accompanied by members of the Indonesian embassy in Havana, the diplomat arrived at the headquarters of the Provincial Government of People’s Power, where she was received by Carlos Raúl Martínez Turro, coordinator of Programs and Objectives, and Alejandro Louit Correa, director of International Relations in Guantanamo , who explained to the visitor the socio-economic, geographical and cultural characteristics of the territory; as well as the plans and projects contemplated in the Comprehensive Development Strategy, until 2030.
