Within the framework of the Magdalena Cantillo Frómeta Provincial History Workshop, the Guantanamo historians supported the declaration of the Ministry of Culture against efforts to boycott the concerts of the Cuban musicians of Buena Fe band in Spain.

The president of the provincial branch of the Union of Historians of Cuba (UNHIC), MSc Vivian Díaz Bardají, expressed that these acts are part of the vandalism and hatred of the forces that oppose the revolutionary process in Cuba and ratified solidarity with the artists.

In the second edition of the event held at the University of Medical Sciences, in Guantanamo City, the participants also reiterated the demand for the return of the illegal United States Naval Base in Guantanamo, a fair claim for national dignity and particularly for Guantanamo residents.

They also advocated drawing up political, economic and social strategies that allow developing initiatives, mobilizing resources and their own thinking, despite the aggressive military camp that belongs to the greatest imperialist power in the world.

During the day, the research works that will represent the province in the 25th UNHIC Congress were pre-selected, and the young university student Laura Náyade Durand Pérez was also chosen, who will participate in the student session of this important event to be held in the central province of Villa Clara at the end of this year.
