With 221 students from 16 countries participating, Cuba was the Latin American country that won the most medals (3), followed by Venezuela with 1.

Guantanamo.- Cuba earned three medals at the 4th International Mathematics and Computer Science Olympiad held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, emerging as the top Latin American medal-winning country at the competition, which brought together 221 students from 16 nations.
In Computer Science, Villa Clara ninth-graders Mauricio Cruz Siles won silver and Andy Ernesto Sánchez Pérez took bronze. In Mathematics, Camagüey ninth-grader Alejandro Martínez Sánchez secured a bronze medal.
Venezuela was the only other Latin American country to medal, with one award. Congratulations to the young medalists, their coaches, teachers and families.
