Guantanamo – The trade union movement in  Guantanamo province is ready for the great popular parade through the main streets and squares this May Day; expression of the commitment with the Revolution, the people’s unity and the support to the main leaders of the social project that is being built in Cuba.

In the capital city of this eastern territory more than 80 thousand locals will march through the historic Revolution Square Mariana Grajales Coello in 5 blocks: Dignity, Unity, Commitment, Victory and Continuity, each one with initiatives that will bring color and enthusiasm to the parade.

Likewise, in the rest of the municipalities of the province, workers will parade to celebrate the date that this year has as its main slogan “For Cuba Together We Create”.

As a tradition , during  April the Cuban Workers Union (CTC) in Guantánamo developed a broad program that included days of support for food production and sugar cane planting, decoration of workplaces and voluntary blood donations, among others. Also noteworthy was the recognition of workers and union leaders.

In addition to the celebration of International Workers’ Day in Guantánamo, several works of economic and social impact were inaugurated, including the delivery of new houses to the residents of Baracoa and the community of Los Llanos in the municipality of Maisí to people whose homes were devastated by meteorological events.
