Guantanamo.- The vitality meeting held on June 18th in Guantánamo focused on essential services for the population, including retiree payments, water supply management, and the repair of electrical transformers. This session was led by key political and governmental figures in the region, emphasizing the importance of these issues for community welfare.
Joaquín Díaz Cantillo, the general director of the Electric Company, reported the transportation of two transformers to the municipalities of Maisí and El Salvador for installation. Specialized technicians will oversee the installation in the communities of El Diamante and La Escondida, ensuring a swift restoration of electrical services.
The meeting also highlighted the progress in distributing milk to children, which has reached 88% completion. Yoel Pérez García, First Secretary of the Provincial Committee, called for enhanced collaboration with local productive entities. Additionally, the payment process for retirees was reviewed, and concerns were raised about the limited flour supply for bread production and an electrical issue affecting water supply in the Yateritas area.
