The 32nd International Book Fair opens doors in Guantánamo from today to show the best of Cuban and universal literature, this time along Calixto García Street, and several institutions of the city.

Dedicated to Isabel Monal, Francisco López Sacha and the Federative Republic of Brazil, as the guest of honor, the event honors famous Guantanamo writer Ana Luz Garcia in her 80th birthday. It also aims to recall the 120th anniversaries of the birth of Alejo Carpentier, the 135th of the arrival to Guantánamo ofthe The Golden Age magazine;150 of the fall in combat of Carlos Manuel de Céspedes and 180 of the birth of Pedro Agustín Pérez.

From March 20 to 24, around two thousand titles and more than 60 thousand copies will be sold at this fair, with varied literature of all genres and public.

 

Among the foreign guests to the 32nd International Book Fair in Guantánamo will be present Marcelo Lotufo (from Brazil), the popular actress Clarita García whom we know for her role as Amalia in the series Calendario;

Havana artists Ramón Elías Laffita and Juan José Jordán; Luis Lexandel Pita from Matanzas and Geovanny Manso, Edelmis Anoceto and Karen Escobar from Villa Clara.
