Two Guantanamo pitchers Enyer Fernández and Alexander Valiente were included in the Cuban U-23 age category baseball team that will attend the 5th edition of the Alba Games in Venezuela 2023, scheduled from April 21 to 29 in the states of Caracas, Miranda and La Guaira.
According to Jit, two catchers, five infielders, the same number of outfielders and eight pitchers make up the Cuban team that is training these days in Morón, Ciego de Ávila, under the direction of Julio César Álvarez from Villa Clara.
The U-23 team will have some matches against a Russian team that visits the island, these games will take place at the Paquito Espinosa stadium, in Morón, on dates that will be announced.
The Cuban team includes athletes with experience in Pan American and world competitions in the U-23 age category, as well as the experienced Andrys Pérez, who attended the 5th World Baseball Classic.
