Unreachable vegueros in National Baseball SeriesPinar del Río defeated Sancti Spíritus 6×3 this Sunday, with solid relief by Orisbel Borges, and kept the place of honor in the 63rd National Baseball Series, which closed its eighth particular sub-series.

Visiting the Jose Antonio Huelga stadium, the Vegueros from Pinar del Río signed a decisive five-run cluster in the sixth episode, with five hits, including the 13th home run and two runs batted in by Yaser Julio Gonzalez, who, in his best season ever, equaled the leadership in both departments.

In homers, he tied with Alfredo Despaigne and in runs batted in, he reached Santiago’s Eduardo García (44).

After this day, Pinar del Río (26-11) leads, followed by Las Tunas (21-11), Camagüey and Granma (21-16); Ciego de Avila and Santiago de Cuba (20-16). Industriales is seventh (20-17) and Artemisa eighth (19-18).
