Guantanamero native included in Cuba's team for Volleyball Nations League

volleyball player in the middle blocker position, Jose Israel Masso appears in the list of 24 players of the Cuban team that will participate in the Nations Cup, with preliminary round from May 21st to June 23rd as the closing of the Olympic qualification for the world ranking.

The selection is headed by Roberlandy Simon, also a middle blocker player, accompanied by Javier Concepción, Roamy Alonso and Alexis Wilson.

The Cuba team to the Nations Volleyball League will also have the services of outside hitters Miguel Angel Lopez, Marlon Yant, Osniel Mergarejo, Julio Cesar Cardenas, Bryan Camino and Yusniel Gonzalez.

Also making up the Cuban team for this important men’s volleyball tournament are opposing players Jesus Herrera, Michael Sanchez, Miguel David Gutierrez, Alejandro Miguel Gonzalez, Jose Miguel Gutierrez, Jose Carlos Romero and Carlos Charles. Christian Thondike, Lyvan Taboada, Adrian Goide and Julio Alberto Gomez will serve as setters and the liberos are Yonder Garcia and Alain Gorguet.

Technical director Jesus Cruz will be assisted by coaches Mario Izquierdo and Manuel de Jesús Espinosa. Completing the team are doctor Lenin Hernandez, physiotherapist Eladio Vives and national volleyball commissioner Jorge Sosa, who will serve as head of the delegation.
