The Cuban Pedro Pablo Pichardo corroborated his state of absolute grace, with more than five jumps longer than the 17 meters this season, and he was encouraged to reach18.06 m (national record and record of the year), the third best record in the history, surpassed only by the outstanding British Jonathan Edwards (18.29) and the North American Kenny Harrison (18.09).
