For the next 2020 International Book Fair, the several-award-winning writer, Eldys Baratute Benavides, from Guantanamo will present two new titles, the book Te llamas Ignacio, a literary tribute of this author to Ignacio Villa, called Bola de Nieve, as well as the Temporada de Héroes, a book that collects stories about important personalities of the Cuban history.

Guantanamo Combatant AssociationThe evocation of Commander-in-chief Juan Almeida Bosque began in the Cuban Combatants Association of the Guantánamo with “La Lupe”, a nostalgic and fervent song written by the hero with music in his soul, who left deep impression on the heart of the Cuban history.

Rio Miel HostelThe Río Miel Hostel and the La Punta restaurant, belonging to the Gaviota Tourism Group in Baracoa, and the Faro de Maisí Hotel, of the Islazul chain, are among the Cuban institutions that will receive recognition for using no ozone-affecting substances, in a ceremony that will take place at the José Martí Memorial in Havana, on September 16th.

With the opening in Guantanamo of sixteen new family doctor and the nurse’s offices, the primary health care of hundreds of inhabitants of rural and mountainous areas of the territory, which had to move from very distant places to receive that service, is guaranteed.
