Esteban Lazo has been re-elected Wednesday as Speaker of the 9th Legislature of the Cuban Parliament that was inaugurated today.

Over 99 percent of the 605 lawmakers ratified Lazo by direct and secret voting after the National Candidacy Commission proposed him to continue in the post he assumed for the first time with inauguration of the 8th Legislature.

The Cuban Parliament is electing Wednesday following the inauguration of the 9th Legislature the nation''s President and the other members of the Council of State. The 605 lawmakers elected last March 11 by over 7,400,000 voters through secret and direct vote will choose among them the members of the Council of State.

The Guantanamo Yuniesky Bouly, María Montero and Noemi Rojas, appear as reinforcements of the Dominican Republic national team that will match in the National Basketball League (LNBF), scheduled from April 21.
